In 2002, New Yorker Karen Jacobsen got an email from her agent offering a bizarre job opportunity. She said, ''I went along with the audition and got the job on the spot. Before I knew it I was recording over 50 hours of script to create this voice system that has ended up in millions of cars all around the world.''

Karen says, out of all of the lines she recorded for GPS, one is her favorite: Recalculating.
